Efficient wireless spectrum allocation is key to driving the development of the country's digital-driven economy, says DTAC chief Lars Norling. PATIPAT JANTHONGThe effectiveness of wireless spectrum allocation methods will be the most critical factor in developing Thailand's digital-driven economy, says the head of Total Access Communication (DTAC). He said a spectrum roadmap is essential for future frequency auctions, and should state the tentative time for each remaining spectrum allocation at least five years in advance. Thailand's telecom industry only has 320MHz of spectrum, and there is still no spectrum roadmap determining the definite type, quantity and duration for spectrum allocation in each band, said Mr Norling. Mr Norling insisted that DTAC has sufficient spectra to serve its growth and customer needs over the next several years.
